Our Philosophy
Our program follows our monthly theme-based curriculum the Wonder- led and the FLIGHT: Alberta’s Early Learning and Care Framework, focusing on play-based, inquiry-driven, and inclusive learning experiences tailored to each child's strengths, interests, and developmental needs. Our educators will build strong, caring relationships with the children, helping them with problem-solving, socializing, and emotional growth. We will embrace cultural diversity, promote learning in all areas, and make sure our environment will be welcoming and inclusive. We will offer materials that encourage creativity, independence, and teamwork. By constantly improving our teaching methods, we will create a space where children will feel confident, curious, and kind. Each age group will ensure appropriate learning responsive environments and exploration opportunities based on development level and interest are available. Staff will Observe and document children’s learning and behaviors to tailor future activities(Planning for next week).
Outdoor playground
Outdoor playgrounds provide numerous benefits for daycare children, promoting physical, social, and emotional development. By engaging in outdoor play, children improve their motor skills, coordination, and overall health through activities like climbing, running, and jumping. The outdoor environment also fosters creativity and imagination, allowing children to explore nature and develop problem-solving abilities. Socially, outdoor play encourages teamwork, sharing, and communication as children interact with their peers in a less structured setting. Additionally, spending time outside helps children develop emotional resilience by allowing them to face challenges and manage their emotions in an open space. Overall, outdoor playgrounds play a crucial role in creating a well-rounded and balanced foundation for daycare children’s growth and development.
Environment
We prioritize strong relationships with children and families, honor cultural diversity, and promote emotional awareness and social skills. By integrating nature and the environment as learning tools, we offer holistic development opportunities and encourage children to become confident, compassionate learners.
Our educators provide a variety of play-based activities (role-playing, outdoor play, sensory experiences) that nurture creativity, social skills, and physical abilities, while fostering independence and teamwork. We adjust the environment and activities to ensure all children can participate, with additional support from specialists when needed. Each child is supported to reach their full potential in a welcoming, inclusive, and responsive environment.
Curriculum
The core concept of the Flight curriculum is "A Pedagogical Framework for Play, Participation, and Possibilities," designed to guide early childhood educators in Alberta. It emphasizes holistic, play-based, and inquiry-driven learning that nurtures children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.

The Flight curriculum and our theme base Wonder led curriculum ultimately aims to empower children as confident, curious, and compassionate learners who are prepared to engage meaningfully with the world around them.
The Nutirions We Provide
Mini Marvels prioritizes nutrition to support children's growth and development. We ensure all meals and snacks meet high nutritional standards. Our scratch-made meals feature fresh, locally-sourced ingredients, with a rotating two-week menu that adapts seasonally for variety and balance, while limiting sugar and salt. We are nut-free and work closely with families to accommodate children with food sensitivities, allergies, or special dietary needs for cultural or medical reasons, ensuring the safety and well-being of every child.
